In December 1973, 33 years after the events of 'A Christmas Story' (ignoring the sequels including the DtV movie 'A Christmas Story 2'), Ralphie Parker lives in Chicago with his wife Sandy and two children, Mark and Julie. Ralphie has been taking the year off from his job to write his first novel, but its excessive length leads multiple publishers to reject it. Mrs. Parker calls to tell Ralphie that his father, "the Old Man", has died, and the grief-stricken family makes its way to Hohman, Indiana, to be with her. Once there not only does Ralphie have to deal with the grief that comes from loss over the Holidays, but he also must fulfill his mother's promise to give his kids "the best Christmas ever". Starring Peter Billingsley, Erinn Hayes, Julianna Layne, River Drosche, Scott Schwartz, RD Robb, Ian Petrella, Davis Murphy, with Zack Ward, and Julie Hagerty. Co-Written for the Screen and Directed by Clay Kaytis. Co-Written by Nick Schenk, and Billingsley for screen story; Based upon the 1966 book "In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash" by Jean Shepherd, and the 1983 motion picture from the Turner Entertainment Co. library. Irwin Zwilling, Marc Toberoff, Cale Boyter, Jay Ashenfelter, Billingsley, and Vince Vaughn were producers; Mike Drake, Schenk, and Peter Dodd were executive producers.
