After many years as a toy, Woody has found himself having a comfortable place in the world which comes in the form of making a child happy, whether it be Andy or Bonnie. One day, Woody must try and share that same stigma with Forky, a discarded spork that Bonnie has made into a toy of her own even though he personally considers himself "garbage". When Bonnie takes all of her toys out on the annual family excursion, Woody, Buzz, Forky and the rest of the gang wind up on a detour that includes a reunion with Woody's long-lost love life Bo Peep. Woody soon learns that years of adventurous life on the road have taken their toll and changed her personality, but when a new threat emerges they decide they need to put those differences aside.
