1776 is a musical film directed by Peter H. Hunt and was adapted from the Musical of the same name, which won a Tony Award for Best Musical in 1969. It stars William Daniels and Howard da Silva. The film revolves around the Second Continental Congress during their debate and deliberation such as slavery and the Revolutionary War. It leads into the Declaration of Independence being formed and signed with all 13 Colonies agreeing on the new Declaration.
