Cheaper by the Dozen is the life story of Kate Baker and her large family. Her husband Tom is a college football coach and they have twelve children, with eleven living at home. After Tom receives a job offer from an old friend, the family move to Evanston, Illinois much to the protest of the younger children. In their new and very large home, the children find they are not very at home, with the school bullies picking on them and next door neighbors being very overprotective of their son, Dylan. Kate is also using the time in a new town to publish her new parenting book, which is the real book the movie is based off of.
