I am a big fan of Arkanoid/Break-Out type games. I have Arkanoid Doh It Again for Super NES and would like to get Arkanoid for the NES. For years I never purchased it because I always thought you needed a special controller to play it.

Is that absolutely true you need that paddle controller to play it or will a regular NES pad work just fine? I mean you dont need a special contoller to play the Super NES version.

Also is the special controller rare? I only saw it once at funcoland years ago and regret not getting it.

Yes, it's called the "Vaus" controller. It was originally packaged in with Arkanoid (they came in an oversized box).
