I was wondering if anyone remembered how much they paid for the first nes nintendo system when it first came out.

From my recollection, I think my mom and dad paid around $100 with a free mario game

Wow I don't think it really cost that much in the beginning.

I could understand $299 or less but that's insane.

I got my NES Christmas of '88 or '89 and I believe it was around $100.00.

I got my in 1987 or 1988 for Christmas. It came with 2 controllers and Super Mario Brothers. I think it cost my parents 100 dollars. I also got the game Kung Fu.

The original front loader with R.O.B. and the zapper was $150 and the later with just Super Mario/Duckhunt was $99
The top loader came out when the Snes was already here so it was $50(at Toys R Us no less!)
I believe the one with the Zapper and Power Pad was $ 150 as well.

We got ours the week it came out, that was 1985, I wanted the pack with R.O.B. and gyromite as well as the zapper and console but my Dad refused. I believe it was around $200 Canadian for the zapper pack with mario and duck hunt, back when they were on separate cartridges.

I don't remember the price of it, but, the package I got in March 1988 consisted of:
                            *Nintendo N.E.S. console
                            *Two control pads
                            *Zapper light gun
                            *Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt cartridge

It costs them half as much to include only one controller.

The correct price was indeed $149.99 with the ROB & light-gun. The pack-in game was Gyromite & I think Duck Hunt? I am pretty sure Mario was not included.

I kept that system for maybe a week before my parents convinced me that the ROB was useless, and exchanged it for the $99.99 system which was the light gun & came with Super Mario and Duck Hunt (I thought it was Hogan's Alley, but I must have bought that afterwards).

R.O.B. wasn't totally useless, he was the trojan horse that convinced retailers to carry Nintendos after the videogame crash... Other than that though he was lol!

I didn't get mine until 89. It didn't come with any games and I have no idea how much my Dad payed for it.
