Well, I usually use http://keepvid.com, but I might give those other places a try.

hey guys i can go you one better and no need for a video downloader unless your actually on youtube.com but for the videos on here this is all you need about:cache?device=disk this is on your computer where viewed files are stored just go to that address on your PC and once there hit control and F and then in the box type vidpipe and select highlight all and all the vids you have viewed here will be there click on the link it provides and you will be able to download them and if your on youtube just use keepvid to download them no need to download anything or install anything

A much easier way is to use ZillaTube that i found at www.zillatube.com

Very easy to grab youtube videos and save them into the computer. Also it can convert to good quality video of different format. can be played on mp4 player, ipod, psp, and also handphone (so, now i can show youtube videos to my friends)

            :)

Can you create videos in WMV (Windows Media Viewer) format?
                (I'm 10 years old! Please remember this!!!:p)

Video download requires the person to re-dowload the video again, while the slightly better "download video" firefox extension justs saves the video from the cache. :)

My favorite is to use www.vixy.net It converts the videos to a format that you choose. The default is a avi file with DivX encoding.
And with that, I'm gone with the shadows...

Is there anyone that can help me with this? I used KeepVid to download but it just comes up with an unknown file type that wont open with FLV player... What do I have to do? I don't understand this at all and no one will do it for me.

                        Thanks =)

Just add .flv before saving the file

example: You want to save a file called retrintro

you save your file as retrintro.flv or whatever the name of the file is.

I've tried just about all the programs for downloading from places like youtube and the best one i've found is TubeHunter V9.6.

I still don't get it because when I click save target as, it doesn't come up with the option to save as .FLV, it just says "all files" =/

I made a picture for the explanation. The .flv goes at the end of the file name.

                                    www.vixy.net

Although I still applaud youtube for how they are handling the whole copyright infringement controversy, I discovered this website (which may be outlawed someday) yesterday. This will help save your favorite videos on the Internet before being deleted, if any. This may even take pirated videos to a whole new level.

I may be in some serious hot water for this someday, but I tried to download several old commercials off youtube via vixy.net and upload them onto this site via my computer.
