The debate between Babe and Braveheart got me thinking what is the best movie from 1995? after checking the '95 movie release list i came up with about a dozen movies i liked (even loved) but i think my favorite from '95 would have to be Friday with Ice Cube and Chris Tucker, I've always loved this movie it's almost has a Seinfeld like feel to it. A few honorable mentions for 1995 also include for me:

Ghost in the Shell
Heat
Ususal SuspectsBilly Madison
12 Monkeys
Goldeneye
Rumble in the Bronx
Tommy Boy
Bad Boys

What are you're 1995 favorites?

When I was a kid I used to love Batman Forever, the Power Rangers movie, Jumanji and The Indian in the Cupboard.

Nowadays probably Braveheart and Goldeneye are my favs from that year.

        Blood & Donuts
        Congo
        GoldenEye
        Hackers
        Heat
        Lord of Illusions
        Mortal Kombat

Of my favorites listed above, Heat is probably the best from a technical standpoint for cinematography, writing, directing, the whole package.

When I was a kid, Mortal Kombat was the movie to see! But if you are speaking of best as in a quality film, it would have to be Toy Story or Braveheart (I havent seen Braveheart thouhg).

Man, how could I forget Mortal Kombat! Probably my favorite from that year, I honestly had the memory that it was from 1996 for some reason.

                        Congo was also cool.

Mortal Kombat and The Net (like many, I became a Sandra Bullock fan after Speed in '94).

                              Casino.

The most intense movie of '95. It doesn't get more hardcore than Casino, let me tell you.

Not much came out even in terms of quality entertainment.

I guess I'll just name kids films since I was a kid:

                                  Tall Tale
                                  Indian in the Cupboard
                                  Pocahontas
                                  A Little Princess
Toy Story (I actually didn't like this film that much, but it's definitely held the test of time)
                                  Man of the House
                                  Casper
                                  Balto

                                  Other stuff:

                                  The Quick and the Dead
                                  My Holland's Opus
                                  In the Mouth of Madness
                                  Les Miserables

                                    Also Balto and Casper.

Pocahontas was a piece of shit.

Pocahontas was a piece of shit.

In comparison to Aladdin and The Lion King, but there was some nice animation and the music is like timeless. For that alone it wins in my book. At least it wasn't as revisionist as Anastasia...oh god that movie...(in general Pocahontas doesn't even leave with Smith, he goes back to England in the end. So I never understood why critics bitched so much)

The only thing I really liked about Balto was the music, same thing with Casper. Watching Casper today, it's like super cheesy. There are three things about the movie that are ok 1. music score-when James Horner actually gave a damn, 2. that dark scene where Casper describes how he died, 3. Devon Sawa/Christina Ricci-whoever you had a crush on
