Awesome and still funny cartoon that i use to watch all the time every afternoon when i was 4 and taped some episodes, i did rewatched some episodes on Youtube and holds up nicely even with some jokes that some kids wouldn't understand.

I kind of prefered Heathcliff over garfield despite i do love Garfield and Friends including his specials but Mel Blanc was perfection as the title cat.

Riff-Raff was quite the pimp i should say and his girlfiend was quite a babe for a cat chick. I had a crush on Cleo at 4 as it was her with Cheetara and M'ress from the Star Trek cartoon that started my fascination for catgirls.

Did you ever see the ruby/spears version of heathcliff which preceeded the catillac cats one? Heathcliff is largely the same, but the human characters match the comics much more closely (I never could figure out why the DiC made the kids tall & skinny, and made iggy a brunette). The R/S one didn't have the catillac cats, instead it had either marmaduke or dingbat (depending on the season).
You can find clips of the other version on youtube by searching for "heathcliff rs".

As for the DiC (catillac cats) version, I used to watch it every afternoon, shortly before he-man. I currently have a dvd set of the series (unfortunately it's not the complete series, just the first 24 eps).

Yes seen Ruby-Spear's version, it wasn't as good as this one.

The RS version of Heathcliff and marmaduke was based more off the comic from what I've seen. I never saw it and I'm not sure if it was ever aired again after the original run in 1980. I didn't even know it existed at all. Not sure why the DIC version was changed and the Cadillac Cats were added as they never appear in the comic at all, but I must say it's my fav version, prolly because it's the only version I know!

Who else loves the Catillac Cats shorts more than the Heathcliff ones? i do.

Does anyone else agree that Cleo was quite sexy for a cat chick? i was into her when i was 4 as it was her, Cheetara and M'ress from Star Trek that started my fascination for catgirls. Afterall catgirls are such sexy mythical creatures just like elf girls and mermaids and knows how to make guys go crazy plus appeal, even the Japanese digs them and makes pics of them sometimes. Since this show was co-produced by France-Canada-Japan, it's no wonder why Cleo was drawn that way even with those leg warmers since she is an anime-ish character. In cartoons and games you had plenty of sexy catgirl cuties besides Cleo like Cheetara, Lt. M'ress, Cheetah on Justice League, April O'Neil as a Catwoman from the episode "Catwoman of Channel 6", Mirage from Aladdin, Felicia from Darkstalkers, Aishia Clan Clan from Outlaw star, The Puma Twins from Dominon Tank Police, Callie Briggs from Swat Kats, Bagi from Osamu Tezuki's Bagi, Kit Mambo from Animalympics, Jenny from Bucky O'Hare and even Selina Kyle as an ACTUAL Catwoman from that Batman TAS episode.

who else thought Mungo was a lovable dumbass? he reminds me of a feline version of a Fat Albert character.

Hector talked just like Burt Raccoon.
