I've always been a HUGE fan of Johnny Quest...my dad would make me watch the old TV series with him when i was very small (he just recently got me the old series on DVD last christmas)

in the 90's they re-made the show....The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest...anyone remember this and watch it?
it was awesome and was kinda almost like the Matrix Movie where they would go into this computer world, all of a sudden the 2d animation turned to 3d animation....

Yeah I watched this show. The 3d was terrible, even for the mid-ninties.

This was actually the third Jonny Quest series. There was a second one made in the eighties that introduced Race Bannon's daughter, the red-head in the pics you posted.

Actually, Reboot had far superior 3D animation. They were simular in that the models didn't have textures, they just had solid colors, like most 3D in those days. But the animation in JQ was damn near un-watchable, for me anyway.

Like I mentioned in another topic, I really enjoyed Johnny Quest in general; the 60s version, The New Adventures of Johnny Quest (80s), and The Real Adventures. The only thing I did dislike about the 90s version, was the fact that it never technically ended to my knowledge.

And this, right here, is why I would choose some of the Japanese animated toons over ours. Even if the series is a crappy one, they usually do have some kind of a "final episode" to wrap up the series, even if it's a weak ending.

It's strange. Years ago, when the original version aired on TNT, my mother was trying to get me to watch an ep and how she liked it as a kid. My dad liked it too. I was so against it then (I had to have been about 11 or 12). I just said, "It's boring." Later on, I saw an ep of The New Adventures of Johnny Quest, and got hooked on it after that, and realized the Johnny Quest series as a whole is pretty good.

Is there anyone here that read the original comic book series?

That aside, about the 3D-animation, I must be a strange one because I never really thought much of it. I mean, I liked the show for the story-line, as well as the characters, and find that more important than a show's animation. I still feel the same way to this day in that regard.

I totally agree with this, I doubt I could watch very many anime TV series if I was in it just for the animation. In fact the only cartoon to date that I couldn't watch because of the animation style is that AdultSwim show Tom and the Mayor or whatever. I'm sure the show's funny and all, but I just can't watch it.

I really enjoyed Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, but since the 3D aspect of it was mentioned I had to point out how terrible it was. Even back then when 3D toons were still in their infancy, it always stood out as one of the worst. Right up there with that space invaders show that used to come on NICK. I forget the name.

I loved the 3D aspect of it, it's too bad that they didn't go into Questworld each episode. I also remember that if Johny were to be hurt in Questworld he would be severly crippled in real life or something to that effect.

I believe the first one was made in the 60's, but I'm not positive.

i watched the original reruns when cartoon network first launched, then when the 90's one started i watched that aswell

however in the 90's one jesse was NOT race bannons daughter like in the old one, man that episode from the orignial where they first find jesse with the frogmen with harpoons was wicked,

anyways the toys were neat and i have a few from the 90's run, hasbro still rehased the vehicle molds every now and then :D
