There was this show (probably early to mid-90's) called Wishbone.

There was this cute Jack Russel Terrier dog whose name was Wishbone and he would "think out loud" and role-play as historical characters, basically to teach kids history and make it fun. Each show had a storyline about both history and real life (Wishbone's 'master' a young boy, would always have some type of conflict).

Very cute show. I wish they would put this out on DVD; I would definently buy it.

Anybody else remember it? I know I was way too old to be watching it, but it was so cute, I just couldn't resist. :D

Had a teacher who really liked it, so we watched it from time to time. Wishbone was all about classic books, which the dog would reenact. It was for older children than Readign Rainbow. All I remember is the dog was dressed in historical outfits each reenactment.

Wishbone is on DVD.Not sure if its ep from the show.

Can find them usually at Amazon.com or at WalMart.
It's OK, next time I'll make you listen. I wish that it were in the power of all children to say that to their parents and to know that indeed they would be heard as we were in those wonderful days on Waltons Mountain.Narrator The Waltons (From the Runawa

I LOVE the theme song...wish I could find it in wav or mp3.

What's the story, Wishbone? What's this you're dreamin' of?

What's the story, Wishbone? Do you think it's worth a look
It kinda seems familiar, like a story from a book

I caught a few episodes, thought it was entertaining. There's one where he straps a camera to his head, pretty awesome

I watched that show all the time. I remember they had the really weird quirky neighbor..I think her name was Wanda? I liked the phantom of the opera episode and the odessey one.

I too believe it was around the original Power Rangers era

i think so too..... wishbone was a sweet show. the orignal Power Rangers however are one of my favorites (hence 'the green ranger' name i chose)

I loved Wishbone! When I was in the 6th grade he was pretty popular and sometimes we'd watch the videos and compare them to the actual books he was enacting. I remember for our Medievel Unit we watched the Joan of Arc one.

I used to have a Wishbone plushy but I gave it to this kid I babysit for. I wish I still had it. He was so cute.

I loved Wishbone! My father would sometimes watch it with me. He still remembers the show, and bits of the theme song. Good times...
There were a few Wishbone plushies on the bargain rack at the local Books-A-Million. It cost about twenty dollars last time I was in there. Hopefully it'll be cheaper next time I go there
