Does anybody remember this in elementary school. I can't remember it perfectley, but I remember selling stuff in a catalog, and get prizes for the amount of things you sold. I also remember being in the school gym and jump roping a freaking day. Does anyone else remember this??

Jump Rope for Heart still gets done. I helped organize it one year except the kids never sold things from a catalogue. They just had to collect pledges. My neighbours kids still do it and I always give them a few bucks each year.

Sure, I remember this! Students who participated got t-shirts, jump ropes, stickers, and the like. They had a DJ in the gym while we jumped rope. That was one of the few times I enjoyed gym class. :)

Come to think of it; there was a dj in the gym playing music as well . This to me, was also a rare moment of liking gym.

I still have the patch that they gave me for participating in the program. I think I'll sew it onto my jacket to show how ol' skoo' I am... :D

Yep, I participated in the jump roping, too, and looked like a jackass doing it!

I remember it, but I totally suck at jump-roping. I'm a runner/high jumper, I don't do jump ropes. Infact, they kinda scare me now  Makes me think of a torture device.

The kid who was the 'Champion' or whatever it would've been from our school was also the most overweight kid in my class. I think in one of our old year books there's a picture of him jumping, frozen in mid-air. :P

                    He now owns a deli.

According to the newsletters my sister brings home from school, our school still does it.
