This topic came up to me the other day and I was just wondering, what skate-themed movies do you people remember? What I meant by skate-themed is about these sports: Skateboarding, In-Line Skating (Rollerblading) and even ice-skating.

The skate-themed movies that I remembered watching were:
- Brink! (features extreme inline-skaters)
- The Mighty Ducks Triology (features Ice Hockey)
- The Skateboard Kid (features Skateboarding)

There's one movie that I remembered watching around 9-10 years ago and it's a skateboarding themed movie. All I remember is the scene was shot at an extreme skateboarding competition (no, not the X-Games) and one of the commentators are trying to find out where is the next contestant, because he was next up for his performance. Also, I saw one kid who carries a purpleish-like skateboard. He named his skateboard the "Stardust" (or something like that).

Does anyone remember seeing this movie? If so do you know what the name of that movie is? I'm trying to track it out for a decade! Can you at least help me on trying to solve the puzzle on the name of that particular movie matching my request?

Other than this, what skate-themed movies do you people remembered?

i remember one about some kid who had like a Vietnamese brother who got murdered and then he like went all ninja and stuff and saved the day...you know. the usual.

I think that was Gleaming the Cube with a very young Chriatian Slater. I loved that movie!

There was one awhile ago, I think it was called Airborne or something. Had Seth Green in it, not as the main character though. From what I remember it was about a guy who was a surfer and he moves to a new town and takes up rollerblading? maybe? Can't remember the new sport he does. Of course the guys who "really" do it don't like him, and he gets the girl in the end as always.

Brink! I loved that movie so much. :D

The other sport he does is Hockey.

I still think airborne is a cool movie, BUT it is a TOTAL RIPOFF of Thrashin!

Thrashin being yet another 80s Skateboarder movie, staring Josh Broalin and Sherilyn Fenn (HOT!).

Both are Great movies.

OMG! I've been looking fo rthe name of this movie for years! I seen it one Saturday afternoon on I think ABC back in the early90's but never caught the name of it. It was the movie that got me interested in skateboarder, even had my dad buy me one when he was working out in L.A. I still have the skateboard too, it has a Ninja on it.
