INSPIRED BY THE PLAYROUND GAMES THREAD I CAME UPON THIS GAME IN ELEMENTRY SCHOOL where there was a big concrete lot. we called the game asses up it was a game just like suicide but after a certain number of outs the losing players would face the wall and the winning player is allowed 3 tries to nail his ass.

now im amazed at how many ppl have also played this game im fron ny class of 95 elementry school 1-6 grade

i think it be interesting to see the different locales this game is also played at and the variation of rules how did a little underground game like this spread ? ?

so please list your version, name, and the location

on a side note, who played spork fights in the lucnh room ? is a game would bend the handle of the fork 90 degrees and u would pull back on the handle and try to break your oponent's spork with the tip haha

    Red Ass - Canada (80s - 90s)

When I play it with kids now at drop-in programs we call it donkey or red but. (And we throw the ball at the wall when they fumble it - not at the kids).

That's the way we played it at school too, except we called it Butts Up.

We'd play a version of Wall Ball it was the greatest game ever. I think you threw the ball at the wall then it would bounce back and someone else would try to catch it and if they dropped the ball they had to run to the wall, but if someone else was able to grab the ball and hit the person with the ball or hit the wall, that person was out...God we'd play this game for hours...

I'm from Chicago and we definitely played "wallball" in elementry school.

I think it "spread" because all you needed was a ball, a brick building and some bored kids! Anyone would have done it eventually.

We also had Spork (Spoon/Fork) fight but the best was "Pencil Pop" now how did THAT one spread. I have cousins from other states that played that when I thought it was just me and some classmates that made it up (it spread like wildfire at my school at one time, then they started giving detentions for playing it  )

But I guess kids took it from school and played it with the neighborhood kids, who went to a family members home out of town and taught them who then took the game to their school and so on, lol.

We just played Peg, which was wall ball but instead of just throwing the ball at the wall to get the guy out you had to hit him. Sometimes we mixed it up if we had less people and made it 3 hits and yur out, while others, when we had like 2 or 3 classes of kids playing we would make it 1 hit yur out. that was probly 3-6th grade cuz for 7 and 8th me and 5 other kids just played nerf football and if only 5 of us were there i was steady QB cuz i could throw well (but i suck at catching, still to this day and im 23 in a month).

I bet everyone played this at one point in thier life. Kickball was THE SHIT in 4th and 5th grade. If you didn't play, you got pencils thrown at you after recess. we had a recess-all-day thing and we had a humongous kickball tournament with everyone in the school. Most fun thing i've ever done. I also remember swinging on the swings and playing something we made up called twisty tie... you had to start spinning and hit the other kid with your legs, first one to stop spinning lost... god that was fun, and ENDLESS hours of tag and wallball... good times, good times
