Hello

I thought I'd add the adult-thingie to the subject line just in case. Is anyone else familiar or a fan of Fritz the Cat, the comic or the film(s)? I haven't read an awful lot of the comics but I love the film as directed by Ralph Bakshi.

Nasty toons anyone?

im a decent fan of ralph baskins work, but i havent seen fritz the cat, if i lived back in the 70's id probally watch it for the origanilty and the conservertial plot, but i live in the internet days, all that stuff has been done, id only watch it now for the novalty, and thus im in no rush to watch it.

I loved Fritz the Cat, I would say I enjoyed the film more than the comics but the film caused Robert Crumb to kill his creation....he did'nt like the film :P. and hey I would'nt either if my characters CR was taken from underneath my nose without knowing.

I have a dvd copy of Fritz The Cat...makes no sense to me, withFritz nailing every female in sight why he didn't do that hefty horse mare...well, before she got gang-raped, anyway. His version of helping her during that scene was hilarious.

Fritz: *simply lifting his hand, not physically jumping in* Hey, don't do THAT. C,mon guys...that's not cool...

It's some movie from the 70's that was originally X-rated, and was about some personified cat shaggin' his way around basically. I've never seen it, but I've heard enough about it to know what it's about.

I know of it, but I never saw it. Off hand all I remember about it is the movie poster and something about Fritz being stabbed or something.

I've seen the film, and I thought it was perfect for it's time.

and something about Fritz being stabbed or something.

That was R. Crumb's final story where Fritz gets stabbed by some female ostrich as his way of killing off any further exploitation of his character such as what haoppened with the film.

LOL! There was this little video store my dad and I used to go to when I was little. For some weird reason there were copies of both Fritz the Cat and Heavy Traffic out on the shelf amongst the regualr movies. I was a big cat freak...big into Heathcliff and the like, so I see this box (it was purple and said "Midnight Movies") and it said "Fritz the Cat" and lo, it was a cartoon! So this was cool to little 9 year old me...but upon turning it over to see the back, and the 2 pictures of scenes from the movie...I realized this was NOT Heathcliff! One of the pics was of the Policeman holding onto a female hippie cat who was nekid!

My dad suddenly became aware of my saucer eyes looking at this movie and snatched it away. For the next 3 years I began the "Let me see Fritz the Cat!!" campaign. Until finally, I got bored...then when I was "Of age" I came across it again and rented it and watched it. It was interesting...quite.

I even managed to find the theme song mp3 online a few years ago. The one that has the opening line "Hey, all you f%ckin' intellectuals, you think you're so where it's at"

There's a full album out there of this movie's soundtrack if you can find it (once available on LP from Fantasy Records in the 70's).

Oh yeah, it's available from "Concord Music Group".
