Was there two different versions of the cartoon Heathcliff, about the cat? The one I remember seeing had a theme song that went, "Heathcliff, Heathcliff, no one should terrorize their neighborhood". But the one on Boomerang network with Marmaduke isn't it. So were there two versions of Heathcliff, or did it just have a new theme song in the early '90s? Thanks.

There was Heathcliff and Marmaduke 1980-1984 and Heathcliff 1984-1988.

The first was mainly about Heathcliff and occasionally Marmaduke and had inferior animation to Heathcliff which had the Catillac Cats.

The first was made by Ruby-Spears while the second was by DIC. The DIC version is out on DVD now and is far superior IMO.

Although The Catillac Cats own all!

        You bet!

I don't know many people who remember the first one at all. But your right the second version was much better.

I never seen the Marmaduke version either. However I'm wondering if there are some eps of the Cadillac Cat version that had stopped airing. I distinctly remember Eps where heathcliff and Riff-Raff interacted with each other. But in later reruns the show played in the format of having a Heathcliff cartoon in the beginning and for the 2nd half of the show Riff-Raff and co.

On the DVD the cartoons are seperate. I remember a few episodes where Hector, Mungo, and Wordsworth make appearances but Riff Raff only apperared once in the backround in a cameo of an episode, as far as I know.

The only Catillac Cat never to make an appearance in the show was Cleo.

WOW! That stung! I personally loved watching Heathcliff. It was so much better than any Garfield cartoon.
