From what I understand Romper Room was made during a time when they did not bother saving the taped episodes .....they would just reuse the same tapes to save money. That info came from someone who was on an episode of Romper Room.

Thats unbelievable! I can't believe they would do something that stupid! I hope that isn't really true.

Video may have killed the radio star, but reality crapfests killed the video.

That would be unfortunate if that was true but not impossible.

This was back when local TV stations across the country had their own "Romper Room School" programs. The concept then was for each market to have it's own "Miss Nancy" or "Miss Sally" or what-not, and to go through the routine with a different set of kids each day where they do games, learn certain things and to close the show with that magic mirror bit. In 1981, a syndicated "Romper Room & Friends" replaced the local Romper Room for most of the US with a version that could be repeated for many years.

Dunno if this is specific to what the OP was looking for but thought it was on topic anyway.

Wait... the Romper Room? Pardon me for asking, but what is that again? I think I remember it, but I'm not sure.

Pretty much, a televised pre-school session if you ask me. :-)

It would be the opening most of us from the 80's would remember more than what was used before, which in the local franchised version was an instrumental of "Pop goes the weasel".
