I used to check it out from the library all the time, but I'm pretty sure that was back in the 80s.

Unfortunately, this is one of those movies that didn't really hold up well, in my opinion. I loved it as a kid, and as an adult I could appreciate it for the stellar animation quality and production values, but the story wasn't as good as I remembered. Oh well.

I'm not sure if they came out with a release of it in the 1990s. Mine is from the late 1980s, I think 1987-1988. It has the original "The Classics" logo on the box and on the tape itself. I believe mine has the vertical stripe FBI warning (see my post in the other forum on that topic), so it would probably be either late 1987 or early 1988 that it came out.

The only one I remember was in 1987. This was one of my favorite Disney movies. BTW this topic reminds me of a story.

This kid I knew had it (and Pinokio) and I asked him if he could make me a copy because they had two VCR's connected together. He asked his dad and he said NO because it would be violating copy right laws. I was like OK I'm friends with your son and it's just for me. Anyway he would not do it. (I think he just wanted me to have to pay for it like they did). After his dad left I asked him if he could sneak me a copy and my friend said he would have to think about it. His dad overheard and came in saying I was a bad kid and the only reason he let me hang out with his son was because he was smart enough not to listen to me. I remember I got really upset about what he said. Keep in mind this is the same dad that banned me from his sons rooms because I accidentally broke the needle on his record player 2 years before trying to clean some dust off of it. He also yelled at me a few other times over little stuff. Anyway he was a real asshole and so was his son. Anyway I finally just quit going over there. I always wanted to tell his dad off, but I did not have it in me back then. My dad said he ran into him at Wal-mart a few years back and said my exfriends father was talking to himself laughing like a crazy person. I guess people always get it in the end. Come to think of it he acted a litle wiered back then.

Lady and the Tramp is my 2nd most seen Disney movie, losing to The Jungle Book. I saw the orignal copy, and was the only one besides Sleeping Beauty I've seen one with the orignal classics.

yeah and does anyone remember that, for some reason, if you cut off and removed the paper insert of the front of the Lady and the Tramp VHS tape case (which was quite a feat considering it was covered with plastic), you could send it in and redeem it for a lousy.....5 cents

I use to watch that movie a lot. My grandma had a copy. Then I moved onto The Little Mermaid when that went to video.

I used to have the old Classics version from the late 80s. I now have it on DVD.

It was on TV in 2001 when they were advertising Lady and the Tramp II. (Like many movies, I taped this one from the TV. Now I'm lucky if I can find a good movie on broadcast TV.)
