Does anyone else besides me remember this Sesame Street special from 1996? It is about where Elmo is taking a plate of cookies home for Santa. On the way home he runs into Cookie Monster who disguises himself as Santa to try and get the cookies but Elmo does not fall for it. Then, Elmo saves Santa when he gets stuck in his chimney. Afterwards, Santa gives Elmo the choice between a pink Teddy Bear and a magic snowglobe that grants 3 wishes.(Why is it always 3?) Elmo immidiately uses his first wish for a glass of water because he is thirsty. That Christmas, Snuffy is going to visit his Grandma in Cincinati and everyone is watching It's A Wonderful Life. Grover is selling Christmas Trees and tries to sell one to Fat Blue who I used to call "Sir" since that's always what Grover calls him. Elmo chooses the snowglobe and wishes it were Christmas every day. Santa tells Elmo that is not a good idea because if Christmas were everyday, there would eventually be no Christmas. Then, the next day, It's A Wonderful Life is on again but Kermit The Frog comes on interrupting it and says it is Christmas again and people are buying more Christmas gifts. At the North Pole, the elves are beggining to relax when the "Christmas alarm" goes off. It is Christmas again? They just had Christmas! Afterwards, Santa partners Elmo up with a reindeer-in-training named Lightning. Lightning flies Elmo through time and he sees Christmas in Spring. It is Easter and the Easter Bunny is the Christmas Bunny because Easter Sunday is now Christmas Sunday and he has to blend in. So he gives out Easter eggs as Christmas presents. Grover has one Christmas Tree on sale but it is all Brown and there are no needles on it. Fat Blue tells Grover he would like a new tree, not a used one but Grover tells him that the tree was not used, it was "Previously Owned". Then they go to Summer and it is Christmas on the 4th of July. Santa's elves have run out of ideas for new toys and gifts and have worked non-stop since December 25th. So, they have accidently made stuffed cow toys with bunny ears which they call "Moo-Bunnies". Grover is still selling Christmas Trees but the only thing he has for sale is a coat rack with a colored light string around it and a jewel star on top. He tries to sell it to Fat Blue but Fat blue wants a real tree. Grover tells him he does not carry anymore real Christmas Trees because they are an endangered species. Then Lightning flies Elmo to the next December 25th. There is a very different scene from last Christmas. In fact, it is not Christmas at all. There is basically no Christmas because it is just a normal day by now. All the carolers have lost thier voice, the Fix It Shop goes out of buisness and Snuffy is still in Cincinati. Also, Santa has grown tired of his job and is about to retire and move to Florida. There has been nothing on T.V. for a whole year but It's A Wonderful Life. Grover is shouting "Christmas Trees For Sale! Only 25 cents!" But then Fat Blue comes and tells him there are no Christmas Trees on his lot. Grover tells him not to talk so funny because Christmas Trees are an extinct species. So he is selling his sign that reads "CHRISTMAS TREES FOR SALE" for only 25 cents. Elmo tries to fix the wish but he accidently breaks the snowglobe. Lightning flies him back in time to last Christmas Eve when he saved Santa and Elmo chooses a Moo-Bunny (A stuffed cow with bunny ears) instead of the snowglobe. Santa told him he made a good choice and then he goes back up the chimney to finish up delivering to the rest of the world. The next day-Christmas Day, it is Christmas like usual. Everyone sings a song about how although Christmas is one day a year, it is there the rest of the year in your heart. Snuffy has not gone anywhere because as they were getting ready to go his Grandma surprised him and came over to Sesame Street instead. The entire special is backed up in a story form where Maya Angelou is telling the story of how Elmo saved Christmas to the muppets after Zoe wishes it could be Christmas everyday.

I remember that too. I saw it once, I don't remember much of it but looking back at it, it was kind of a stupid special, but I liked it when they aired it though. At least it's WAY better than Elmo's Christmas Countdown because I couldn't stand watching that special.

I've seen it back when I was like 7. My brother liked Sesame Street and me personally, I didn't really like it at that age. I've seen it and it was pretty stupid looking back at it. They had to like shop everyday for Christmas gifts and lightning strikes Elmo, WTF? Well, I mean it's good for little kids but not really good at the age I am now.
