I think I remember a arcade like booth where you sat inside it

maybe something like this camera booth

But I have played some games where you walk in and sit down in front of a big screen in
arcades

Anyway, something that looked like that. But you put your quarters in and you could watch a cartoon, popeye for some reason comes to mind.

Please don't tell these is some weird daydream or dream that I once had.

I am almost positive that I have seen it.

But I guess if they did not have it, it would still be an interesting thing to make

Oh yeah, I remember these. The one I saw as a kid was one that showed those old Terrytoons.

Does anybody have a picture, know who they were made by,
or maybe even what they were called?

I just did a minor search on google and people are calling coin-operated cartoon booths, but I still would like to know more.

Yeah, they had these. I remember one at some pizza restaurant when I was younger. They were exactly as you explained: you put the quarters in and watch a cartoon. However, there weren't that many of them around.

We used to have one in our Sears, in Brunswick Maine. It was all the way out back where they take your photos and do the optical exams and special ordering and what not.

The one we had played clips from The Magic Pony

I remember some of those being in grocery stores, like K Mart and Fiesta. They used to have shows like Mighty Mouse and Heckle and Jeckle.

Video may have killed the radio star, but reality crapfests killed the video.

The cartoon booths were sold by Kiddierama. My dad and his business partner operated them in the 70's through the mid 80's. I still have one. They even had plans to convert them to VCR from the unreliable Videotronic Super 8MM projectors. Heres a guy who has a website about them. I believe he got one from an estate sale. He has a short video of one operating.
They were in Sears,J.C. Pennys, and other retail outlets. The played Terrytoons Characters were Woody Woodpecker,Heckle and Jeckle, Mighty
Mouse, Deputy Dawg etc. also Hanna-Barbera cartoons.

The even came out with a smaller version of the booth
