You know how in every kids' movie, the Villain always gets to sing about how evil he is in what is usually the best number in the whole movie? Disney was king of the Villain songs, with most of their villains getting two or three a movie.

So which one was the best? I think either "Hellfire" from the Hunchback of Notre Dame or "The World's Greatest Criminal Mind" from the Great Mouse Detective were the best.

"Hellfire" wasn't really a typical villain song, as it was actually a prayer. Frollo essentially blames God for everything he does, and the ironic Latin hymn in the background makes it all the better. When Frollo says "It's not my fault," the chorus says "It is my fault" in Latin. I really didn't get this song until I was older, because it has such complex themes that kids wouldn't get.

"The World's Greatest Criminal Mind" is just a hammed-up song for a hammed-up villain, and crazily entertaining to watch. Ratigan just strokes his ego through the entire number, and then makes his cat eat the first mouse to call him a "rat." It established him as a hopelessly vain megalomaniac who forced his minions to work for him by scaring them.

So what was the best villain song, Disney or otherwise?

I always liked "Be Afraid" sung by Scar in The Lion King.

Oogie Boogie's Song - Nightmare before christmas.

Man, Hellfire was awesome. It had a religious theme and basically talked about lusting after someone. That's pretty adult for a Disney film.

World's Greatest Criminal Mind was fitting for a flamboyant character such as Ratigan.

That's my Lullaby from Lion King II is great too. I always loved Zira and her wanting to avenge Scar.

Too bad Hades from Hercules never got a song. I bet it would've been hilarious if he did.

There are also two songs that were given to Jafar for when he gets the Genie, but they ended up being cut: Why Me and Humiliate the Boy.

Also from a non-disney film, In the Dark of the Night from Anastasia.

I always liked Jafar's version of "Prince Ali." Of course, not back in the day, because when you're a kid, you're supposed to hate the bad guys, like heel wrestlers. However, I now enjoy heroes and villains equally in movies. As for the bad guys in real life, they are the ones I hate.

"Be Prepared" from "The Lion King" is the one I remember the most. "Poor Unfortunate Souls" from "The Little Mermaid" is probably the creepiest one. Jafar's song isn't even original. It's just a reprise of "Prince Ali" with mocking lyrics.

Be Prepared from the Lion King, that song still gives me chills down my spine.

Its from the original Care Bears, Professor Cold Hearts song "Don't mess with the Professor!"

I liked Be Prepared from the Lion King. I watched it last night and it brought back memories. the song is okay.

The Night On Bald Mountain scene in Fantasia is pretty badass. I also love the song I'm the Pusher from the rock opera episode of Clone High. It's an obvious copy of the melody from Fiddle About [Uncle Ernie's Theme] from Tommy and the songs Judas sings in Jesus Christ Superstar. It also borrows some of the chord changes from Yes' Yours is No Disgrace. Very cool and very funny.

Part 2 of "Big & Loud" (from the movie Cats Don't Dance) really showed Darla's dark side. ;)
