going back to the topic of pencils.... did anybody else play this game? I used to love playing it, and man i remember the tournaments we used to have around school.. of course we had to keep this game on the hush hush, cause anybody caught playing was given detention.. and not to mention this game only worked at school, cause like all other games that are played at home, their just not the same.

What is it?
well its like this. two kids each get a pencil, they take turns flicking thier pencils trying to break the other guys, if you flick and you miss, the other guy gets 3 or 5 free shots.
it was a real popular game in my elementary school.. even all the way up to middle school.. i thught only my elementary school played t, but when i changed districts in the 4th grade and saw kids playing it i thought it was a popular game

sounds...inconvenient. for one pencils dont break that easily, but worst of all 3-5 shots?
if you didnt play pencil break, did ya'll pencil fight (solo game i played in school), where you got a pencil in each hand and pretend to have a fight with them. i would hold the pencil and use my index and thumb as the hends and then use the bottom 1/2 of the pencil as legs for kicking

actually, you would be surprised how many pencils I sawbreak in the 1st 2 or 3 shots.. hit it with enough velocity and you could break them easily

i see. i was thinking they'd break from wearing out after all the flicking

When I was in middle school, kids used to play a similar game to that, only, we used plastic forks. The game got banned from within weeks.
yup I remember. it was very popular in middle school. people still sorta played in high school too.
