We're all familiar with Wall Ball. You had a wall and threw a tennis ball against it. Several kids could play and if you threw the ball at the wall and someone caught it before it touched the ground you had to post up and take a hit from the ball or you could just be out.
For years I thought the game was called suicide, but looking back maybe it was called "Sewer Side" and I've heard it also referred to Butts Up. What did you call it?

Yeah, we called it "Butts Up." If you dropped the ball three times and someone threw you out against the wall three times before you tagged it, you'd have to post up and everyone that played would have their shot at throwing the ball at your butt. Thus, it was called "Butts Up."

When I played Butts Up if you missed you got a spanking on the butt by the other players.
There was another variation called Slaughterhouse which was similar to Butts Up but you got punched instead. It was banned at a few of the schools I went to.

I've played this before, I believe we called it Suicides but I can't really remember. Kids from different states and cities may have different names for it.

In school we called it "Butts Up" but we played it differently.. a bunch of us were just throwing a tennis ball at a wall. But if you drop/fumbled the ball when trying to catch it after hitting the wall.. then you must try to run and touch the wall, but while you are doing so anyone can pick up the ball and peg you with it..
I don't recall their ever being people eliminated or winning.. just a game we played hoping to beam someone with a tennis ball really..

In our version if you went to catch it and dropped it/fumbled then you had to run and touch the wall. if someone picked up the ball and threw it at the wall before you could touch it then you'd have to post up. But some kids must have been accustomed to playing your version because they would constantly peg the kid as he ran to the wall.

Version I played was called "wall ball", and our rules were like the ones baker played by, except that if you got hit you would have to sit out until there was one person left.
Interestingly enough, I recently found out two of my childhood friends died in the same month, within a week of each other. We used to play wall ball. :(

We called it butts up. We played with a lot of terms and rules. There were challenges, spikes, aces, tea parties, flags, outs, breaking the ice, ( sometimes pegging), serves, (no nothing).
