Before Gollum came along in Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers in 2002, Industrial Light and Magic created their second fully computer generated character in a major role since the dragon Draco in the 1996 film, Dragonheart. He was a Gungan alien named Jar Jar Binks. Although the animation worked, a lot of you hated this character.
P.S. and as many of you don't even notice, one of the characters in Star Wars Episode I, Boss Nass, has his voice provided by the same guy who voices the hunter Clayton in Disney's animated version of Tarzan (which has great 2D traditional animation, great computerized Deep Canvas effects, great songs by Phil Collins and a great music score by Mark Mancina), which is released in the same year as this Star Wars Prequel. I'm just letting you know.
So, what of this uproar over this character and the Star Wars prequels as well? Why did everybody hates Jar Jar Binks? What is going on with the attacks on George Lucas directly or indirectly...the attacks on George Lucas that began with Star Wars Episode I the Phantom Menace 10 years ago, and 2 years earlier with the Star Wars Trilogy Special Editions 12 years ago?

He was only comic relief in the entire series that was meant to be serious, and was also useless in battle.

Jar Jar was the useless 'comic relief'. His mushmouth speaking only served to annoy the fans of the original series. Star Wars did not need a bumbling idiot sidekick.

Jar-Jar as comic relief was as useless as he was annoying. C-3PO and R2-D2 did a perfect job with providing such a dark series of movies with much needed comedy. Jar-Jar Binks is a dildo.

Jar Jar is terrible.
All Star Wars fans hate Jar-Jar Binks. A few I've heard of hated Ewoks too but once JJB came along, they all forgot why they hated ewoks so much. I for one think ewoks are cute and totally bad ass at taking down Stormtroopers.
I don't really like ewoks but I don't hate them either.
I never cared for the Ewoks but they also dont make me want to randomly punch things like Jar Jar does.

I don't understand why people disliked Jar-Jar either. It's not like he did anything. Just a friend to Anakin and all that. I didn't dislike Jar-Jar...but I wouldn't consider him a favorite character either. I guess I can say that I didn't care for Jar-Jar (like I said, it's not like he did much of anything), but I didn't hate him either.
An annoying character for me was adult Anakin for Episode 2 and 3.

He also had a small role in "Robin Hood" Prince of Thieves". He played Robin's father, Lord Locksley, who was murdered by the Sheriff of Nottingham early in the movie.
Anyway, back to Jar Jar. He was just annoying...his voice, the way he talked. And he took up way to much screen time.

Theres a fan made edit of Episode One out there. They removed Jar Jar from the movie and its so much better.

Did they really? I'm going to see if I can find it now. I didn't really care that much that he was in there he just wasn't my favorite. My favorite was Darth Maul, I remember I had a Darth Maul blow up chair it was big but my damn cat popped it.

Jar Jar was annoying, I actually tried to see if I liked him while watching episode 1 but even when trying to find reasons to like him I just couldn't find those reasons, Jar Jar just kept doing and saying things that made him a very unlikeable character. As for the Ewoks, they're awesome!
He had too many lines in Phantom Menace.Attack of the Clones sucked too but he didn't say that much.
