Here's a first look at Sam Worthington as Perseus-

http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=25953

I'm kinda pissed, the long curly hair was iconic in the original. This looks more like John Cena's the Marine then anything else. I'm crossing my fingers that this movie won't suck.

I'm a HUGE fan of the original. What about you guys? What parts did you like or not like in the original movie?

my only problem is that in the original myths he was a man beset by the whims of the gods and he did the best he could in those situations. this looks like hes gonna be an superhuman killing machine bent on revenge!!! (cue exploding medusa)...and i dont see any calibos in the new one.so far..what??

This is one of my Mom's faves....I love that owl, he was sooo funny to my brother and I as a kid. I also remember being scared to death when I saw Medusa for the first time.

My love for the original movie grows every year.
Here are pics from my earlier post on the 2010 remake.

I love this movie for Ray Harryhausen's special effects, I'm still amazed by them.

Save me from realism, I'll take Mr. Harryhausen's stuff anytime.

His special effects are strange, creepy and other worldly!
Just the sort of effects "Clash of the Titans" was perfect for.

I'm still hypnotized by this stuff. Never cared for "gross out" monsters.
They don't have to gross anybody out, just be monsterous!

Even in photos the weird quality for the original Clash of the Titans comes through.

Here's a clip of the original trailer:

Hang on to your mouse, Clash of the Titans was a big budget film from 1981 with an all-star cast.
Laurence Olivier, Claire Bloom, Maggie Smith, Ursula Andress, Harry Hamlin, Judi Bowker, Burgess Meredith, Siân Phillips, Flora Robson, Anna Manahan and Freda Jackson. Just to name a few, lol!

Even if you don't know all the names, I bet you would recognize them instantly if you ever see the film.

I've always been a Harryhausen fan. I'm interested in the new version but I just don't feel right if they use CGI to replace the classic stop-motion animation. I look for it to be a lot darker and more graphic than the original.

That guy with the crewcut is Calibos, right? That can't be Perseus, right? Right?

I'm betting on the movie being PG13. All action movies have to be PG13 these days. It's the law.
