I really didn't know who David Ruffin was until about 5 or 6 years ago. I grew up with the Temptations' music but didn't know much else about them. Then, the miniseries about them came on and changed my life!! He was such a talented man and it is so sad he ended up the way he did. That being said, I'm gonna check this out! Thanks!
Thanks for remembering David Ruffin. Strange how so many Motown singers had it rough when they tried to start solo careers. The appeal of going it alone is still strong today. Hope new stars have an easier time of it now.

When it comes to the Temptations, one can never be sure who to believe about anything. The entertainment industry takes a toll on most performers and their personal lives can pay the price as a result.
Like Marvin Gaye, David Ruffin was a complex man. I'm in no position to judge, so I tend to treat everything as rumor. Personally I admire anyone willing to strike out on their own. It shows determination and confidence in one's talent.
