Anyone have/had one of these? I remember ours used to be called radio grill.. Of course till major restaurant chains took it over.

Nowadays it's a subway (though the Florence wal-mart had a blimpie's in it for awhile, back when it was where babies-r-us is there was a McDonald's) inside the wal-mart though there's one in colerain township with a McDonald's..

I don't remember the name of ours or if it even had one. It was in the Wal Mart closest to me up until about 2 years ago. Now they don't have a restaurant there at all. I guess because they aren't a Supercenter (yet). The supercenters near me have either McDonald's or Subways although the Subways started out as Krispy Kremes.

A lot of the ones I've ever gone to used to have The Radio Grill in them. Eventually though they became a McDonald's. Although I think if you buy a pizza in the deli/produce section the Deli guys can cook it for you.

We didn't get a WalMart close by until 1988. It had a McDonalds from the start. I wonder if these Radio Grill's were before then?

At the Walmart where I lived in Maine they had a little cafe thing and that was it. In Hawaii they had a McDonalds. in Northern California I think they had a subway. We don't have Walmart in Guam but the Kmart has a little caesars in it and so did the Kmart in Hawaii.

At ours in Missouri, it started as a Subway, then a few years later, it changed to a McDonalds. The strange thing is, there was a standalone McDonalds in the parking lot. Don't know if that one's still there or not.

My Wal-Mart had a Radio Grill in it until the early 2000's. The local McDonald's sits snugly at the other side of the parking lot.

I work at Wal-Mart, and I can remember when we had a Radio Grill. Hardly anybody went in there, though. It became a Subway a few years ago, and it's become more successful since then. If I have some money, I occasionally buy a sandwich there on my break.

now that you mention it, there happens to be a Mickey d's on the opposite side of the Alexandria wal-mart parking lot.. It's even got a playplace there. Been through it a few times. Good stuff.

                            Mine just has McDonalds.

Speaking of which, has anybody ever seen small food places inside Target. Where I live there's one that has a Pizza Hut Express as well as a deli.

Yea our Target down the street has their little "Snacks" area where they sell all that little crap for way too much money. There's a Kroger's store with Chick-Fil-A in it, too. Don't remember seeing Wal-Mart having any restaurants/snack shops though...

The general rule seems to be that if there's a Wal-Mart and a McDonald's in the same town, they'll share a parking lot. This is especially true of small towns. The Wal-Mart at Middlesboro, KY actually has three or four fast food places in their parking lot.

Our restaurant inside of Wal-Mart does have a history LOL. When our Wal-Mart first opened it had a McDonald's, then within some years it changed to Radio Grill, then for a short time it was Wal-Mart Snack Bar. which I guess didn't do well, as it didn't last long after the Wal-Mart store remodel and closed. they now use the old restaurant space to display discounted items. I liked the Radio Grill pretty well though!

When our store moved up to Supercenter, it had a small McDonald's in back, near the dairy department. Then McD left and it switched to a Radio Grill. It was later condensed into just a basic snack bar. After that, it almost was a Subway, but the main Subway moved to a new position closer to the supercenter. The area was then turned into an expansion for dairy, with the wall part changed into more cooler space for milk and juices.
We have another store remodel coming up around March, and management told us some grocery departments could change, so there's no telling what it will be next.
