write a brief, precise and fresh article. sometimes too-long articles are boring to read and write it according to facts, and the most important thing you should remember is don't plagiarize.

Yeah, even schools try to lock you up if you plagiarize.

I got one on the main site for some reason... maybe cause it was really good...

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't every new article end up on the main site? For example, all of my articles did when they were new.

Then, depending on how much scores the article recieve (or so it seems) the article either end up in the archive or is banished to the back-page.

If it helps, I've written 12 articles on this site and I've had success with all of them. Before the days of the point system when Retrojunk used Stars instead of points, all my articles were 4 stars or better out of 5. Feel free to examine some of my work to help guide you.

In my experience, a healthy combination of trivia, research, great pics, and captions below the pics do the job nicely.

You can do a list or an article on a specific topic. all of which I have done. However, as of late, I've been trying different things--putting twists on the regular types of articles. I even did a swisuit article as a narrative.

Make sure you edit too. Spelling mistakes and errors in your statements just make you look stupid. It's a good idea to type your article into a word processor and post it in the site article manager when it's polished.
