Whenever people talk about animated films, they always just talk about Disney films. But there are plenty of other great animated films that aren't Disney films. One of my favorites is Anastasia, made by 20th Century Fox. It's one of the best animated films I've ever seen! I still remember telling my dad three or four times that I really wanted to see it. Finally, he and my mom both decided to take me to see it. We went out to eat at a restaurant that's no longer around called "Cooker's." anyone remember that place? I told the waitress that after we eat, we're going to see the movie Anastasia. And she told me that she was really happy for me. And that she really wanted to see it too. When we saw the movie, I was like WOW! Another favorite of mine is Fievel Goes West. I remember one time, my parents and I saw two movies in one day. I can't remember the movie we were mainly going to see was. Anyway, we arrived too early for it, and my mom asked me if I wanted to see The Swan Princess. I didn't want to, because I was afraid that I'd get made fun of, if I did. But my parents dragged me to see it anyway. I'm man enough to admit, I really liked it. It's definitely an animated children's classic! I would like to give a most honorable mention to The Princess and the Goblin. If you haven't seen it, I highly recomend that you do! What are your favorite animated children's films that aren't Disney?

Transformers the movie and GI Joe The MASS device were constant rentals for my brother and I when we were kids.

Some of the few I can call to mind atm:

The Road to El Dorado: Believe it or not kiddies there was a time when Dreamworks was animated with ink and paint and all their movies weren't trying to ride Shrek's coattails. The Road to El Dorado was a fun film for it's time and it had one Hell of a catchy soundtrack with classics such as "It's Tough to be a God" and "The Trail We Blaze"

Help! I'm a Fish! Not sure how I stumbled across this film or even where I watched it, but it was a fun undersea adventure with a creepy villain.

The Pagemaster: Pretty good movie, too bad it didn't get a lot of recognition.

Rio: Proof that there are still some good ideas out there and as a bird man myself, I'm glad they finally made a movie about a parrot.

Spirited Away: Not a fan of anime and not sure if Disney animated this but it's a great movie.^ ^

The Rugrats Movie IMHO. I have both the soundtrack CD and the movie on DVD along with Rugrats in Paris, which sadly, I do not own the OST to.

Disney didn't animated it, it was animated by Studio Ghibli, but it's released though Disney. So it's sort of a "Disney movie" but not really. But yeah I agree that's it's a great movie, in fact I love pretty much everything from Studio Ghibli.

I'm shocked that while we're on the subject of "favorite non-Disney animated children's films" no one has bought up Iron Giant. That's a pretty overlooked, but great, animated movie.

The Secret Of NIMH is one of my favorites. Another is Ferngully. A bit cheesy but a lot of fun. I also like, of course, An American Tail, Land Before Time (before they futzed it up with 500 sequels), Transformers The Movie, and Troll In Central Park.

I'd go with "Yellow Submarine" which is an animated Beatles film.

Ok Lepew, I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but there are a few things wrong with your post...

                        1) It takes up way too much space posting all those pics.
                        2) A couple of those movies such as South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut ARE NOT a childrens' animated movie as this thread suggested
                        and
                        3) Bambi and Nightmare Before Chirstmas ARE Disney movies. I'm actually amazed anyone can forget Bambi is a Disney movie.

Pretty much any movie done by Don Bluth after he left Disney Studios, and anything by Studio Ghibli. Rankin Bass had some cute ones too- The Last Unicorn is up there as one of the top American Animated films of all time. Apparently Hanna Barbera produced Once Upon a Forest. I give them credit for that.

‘Cars’ would be my favourite non Disney animated movie. This movie represents the emotional story of a desert wasteland occupied completely by cars.

Whatever. That's your opinion. I could say the same for A Troll in Central Park and it would not discredit what I said above.
