This is one of the rare modern remakes that are good like "King Kong (2005)", "Dawn of the Dead", "The Hills Have Eyes", and "My Bloody Valentine", although "Friday The 13th" doesn't count cause that was a sequel.

Wes Craven and Sean S. Cunningham who collabrated on the original 1972 classic which was in turn inspired by Igmar Bergman's "Virgin Spring" produced this one. I love how it's true to the gritty spirit of the sick cult fave with some creative kills and of course a more appalling rape scene then the original's.

I vowed to never pay to see another remake after the (in my opinion) abomination that was the Friday the 13th remake. But I've heard a lot of good things about Last House on the Left, so I may have to go back on my word and check it out.

Gore, murder, torture, all that I can watch with ease but rape sickens me. I think that this would be the only instance that I would possibly favor a PG-13 version of a horror movie, where the chicks just get killed, but the parents still get their bloody revenge

So yeah, this turned out to be good. Like I said before, I am not fond of remaking horror movies, but at least this one didn't water down the content of the original. It certainly wasn't perfect, but it is definitely the best remake I have seen thus far.

I personally though this movie was very disturbing to watch. I seemed alright until the violence started with those two girls. That's when I decided,"F**k this.I'm leaving." So I walked out of that movie.

I assume you've never seen the original movie, then.
