I saw the show. HBK vs. The Undertaker was the best match by far. Money in the bank was pretty good (I've gotta say, Kofi Kingston really surprised me), the Hardys put on a better than expected match (glad to see matt win that one) and the two title matches were O.K. (the second of the two being lackluster at best). The less said about the "Diva Battle Royal" the better. All in all I'd give the show a 7.0. So what about you guys, what are your thoughts?

Watching balloon-titted women fight isn't entertaining unless their "fists" are used for something more creative than punching.

I pretty much agree with that sentiment.

i watched wrestlemania this year. first wrestling i've watched in at least a year (i don't remember if the last event i saw was last mania or the one before), so i was completely out of the storylines. however, oddly enough, i was able to understand the goingsons without much trouble!

i thought, overall, it was a pretty poor show. not the least of the reasons were that it was sucha momentous anniversary, 25 years, and nothing special took place. then, there was the dreadfully slow pace to most everything.

the ladder match was awesome. probably the best of the night. some really fun spots. typically, i expect these types to be my least favorite, as its very much a "oh, you wanna be at mania too?" type match, with all the left overs thrown in. but, the energy was really high for this one, despite a few blown spots. the fans clearly wanted christian to win (i didn't even know he was in the wwe anymore), but still fun to watch

the diva bout was silly. even sillier than it should have been. so silly, they didn't even get mentioned or entrances, and there were a few girls in there making a special appearance after a few years. also, seemingly a waste of santino, who i think is pretty funny.

old guys vs. jericho was boo. snuka looks like he's gonna die. piper looked about the same as always: drunk and fat. flair looks somehow a million times worse than he looked last time he wrestled regularly. steamboat... was fucking awesome! steamboat fought jericho for a good 10, 15 minutes, and hit a number of good moments. i don't think he's wrestled in 15 years, but he not only did "wow, you're 60 and still good" good, but actually good, as in better than most of the current roster, still. mickey rourke then did his best piper impression to end the segment.

hardy match was meh. seemed the same as their 1,000 previous matches.

jbl / mysterio was a joke.

taker vs. michaels was the only match i was interested in. it was really good, but somewhat slow. i think my main criticism of the match is an unfair one: i was expecting it to be amazing. and, really, it wasn't. it wasn't bad, but it wasn't close to as good of a match as i wanted it to be.

hall of fame / austin segment was exactly what you'd expect

cena, show, edge. a pretty good match for what it was. unlike the taker/hbk match, i expected little from this and was surprised by how much better it was. some cool spots with cena lifting both show and edge on his shoulder. i wasn't paying attention / couldn't hear all that well, but it didn't seem at all like cena was being boo'd like he used to be. has that changed / lightened?

hhh / orton was "boo". incredibly slow, crowd was way out of it, somewhat predicatble... just, generally, disappointing and well below (1) what these two could have done and (2) what a wrestlemania finale, particularly wm25, should have been

Seriously!! I was actually hoping he'd lose!!

Anyway, I didn't watch it. Didn't want to shell out the $55+ to watch it. It's ironic how this is the first time, period, that I've voluntarily wanted to actually watch Wrestlemania. I haven't watched any Wrestlemania since about 2001. Even when I used to watch WWF (yes, people, WWF) on a reg basis throughout the 90s, I was never fully into it and was fine watching Raw and Smackdown, but this year's, since it seemed to have a nice nostalgia factor to it. Not counting Cena, Mysterio, and Orton (wasn't he in in this one?), all the wrestlers for this one, were the ones I actually grew up with and liked. I really wanted to see Edge's match, and I really wanted to see the match with the Hardy boys.

I watched wrestling, in my younger days lived wrestling, from the time I was 5 until I was 29. I stopped watching wrestling after Benoit offed himself and his family. That was also the week that my dad died, life changed a lot for me that week (and I don't mean the Benoit thing) and wrestling just didn't fit in anymore. I hadn't ordered a ppv prior to that in years, because they were never as good as the money they cost. I'd pay for 3 hours of wrestling and only get 2.5 hours and a lot of it was awful, not even Raw, Smackdown, Nitro or Thunder worthy. I remember that after I stopped watching, my cousin convinced me to come over to watch the American Bash: Dusty Rhodes BARELY able to move in a match against Randy Orton...awful and that big goof Great Khali actually had a world title around his waist and he, Batista and Kane had the UGLIEST triple threat match I had ever witnessed. It reassured me that I was right to stop watching. I still check in on internet updates occassionally, but that's about it.

                  Diva battle royal= horrible
Money in the bank ladder match= although i like punk i would have rather seen kane win
Triple HHH VS Randy orton= im glad triple HHH shut randy up, although the bigger problem that orton has right now is batista
Jericho VS the legends= i think jericho should stop whining and get fired or go to TNA

Thats all i really have to say, if i left anything out please let me know.

No, that was pretty much it. And, I agree with you about Matt Hardy it was completely unexpected. However, for the Money In The Bank, I would've liked to see Christian Cage win it. I know that he just came back, but everyone in the audience was totally behind him. It would have been a great "Wrestlemania Moment", as the commentators like to say.

Crappy way to end a crappy 2008-2009 year for WWE. Since after last year's Summerslam, WWE went on an immediate downward spiral, and this was just the whole culmination of crap that was WWE 2008. Other than MITB, it was just boring, predictable, and downright pathetically handled.

At the beginning of 2008 with Wrestlemania 24 and some good shows after it, I thought there was hope for WWE. WM25 cemented the fact that I was wrong. I've given up on the WWE. I guess I just grew out of it, which is suprising because back in the day WWF was sworn enemy of soccer moms everywhere... It's nothing but predictable child-pandering PG-rated nonsense now. Fucking too much Cena, fucking too much HHH, not enough OTHER guys to spread main event status too (there's potential...but WWE doesn't see it), Santino's just shameful now, the tag teams and divas mean nothing....it's just a clusterfucked mess.

Fuck WWE. I'm done with it.

It getting waaaay to predictable for me. I guessed the winner of every match, I got all of them right expect for Jeff vs. Matt Hardy.
Basically, The fan favorite always loses, expect for a PPV, and the Diva matches always end with the hot girl losing.
Also, WWE need to release they have are other wrestlers besides Triple HHH,John Cena,Chris Jericho, and Orton.

Money in the Bank was a disappointment. I really wanted Sheldon or MVP to win.

I didn't really care about the Diva's Battle Royal, but they could have at least had an introduction.

Kid Rock was a boring waste of time.

They didn't even bother showing the tag titles unification match.

The Undertaker vs HBK watch was great.

Rey's Joker outfit was silly looking in a bad way.

WWE has been going in a downward spiral for years now. I haven't found it to be entertaining since the late 90's.
