A spirited children's TV romp set in the Monster Café, an establishment staffed by a female Frankenstein-lookalike named Frankie (dressed in punk chic gear), an accident-prone and mumbling Mummy, and a Transylvanian odd-job man named Igor. Wielding control over the gruesome trio was the villainous Baroness, the owner of the castle that housed the café and the creator of Frankie (whom she called Frances).
The subtext here - similar to that of The Munsters - was that even monsters are human and need companionship to see them through life. The series was pleasingly garish and the cast hammed it up appropriately.
