The DVD is pretty good. They were definately recorded on VHS back probably on their origial air dates on a TV with antenna reception. The quality isn't great but it's OK, and will do until it comes out officially (which I'm not betting on). They did a nice job on the menus and edited out all the commerials. I would recommend it if you're as big a fan as I am of the show (I love watching them). I'm into retro gaming and computers and this is a really defining moment of TV history for the genre.

I loved this show too. It was the first time I really became aware of the potential use of computers - it was the days of the Commodore 64 in Australia and War Games hadn't come out on video by this time. Not having seen the show since 1984/85 (didn't get out to Australia till 1984) I wonder whether I would be disappointed in it or be able to enjoy it on the pre-text of watching with my kids. It had a profound impact on me in the summer of 1984 which was the last I spent in Australia as a teenager, I don't really know why. Its funny how tv shows can do that. Glad to see there are others out there who remember the show.

What a great show!

I grew up on a Radio Shack Color Computer II in the early 80's. I was about 9 or 10 when this series aired, and never missed an episode!!

I, too, got into modems, BBSs, and other devious stuff as a result. This TV show and WarGames(same time period), of course, really fueled my desire to hack things. Once I learned what a wardialer was, and got a modem capable of autodialing, my first 300bps Radio shack one didn't, I was dangerous. :)

Looking back, it's amazing what impact TV can have on your life by directing your interests down a particular path. Being young, and very impressionable PLUS having the means (computer and modem) to express this interest and share this interest with other people. Wow. Life changing indeed.

I really have to find somebody selling this DVD. I've been looking for all 18 episodes for the last couple years. If anyone has info, feel free to PM me here. The BBS documentary at http://www.bbsdocumentary.com/ has generated new interest in my past.

Retrojunk kicks butt for having this great resource online.......

BTW: while I think the guides I've seen list different times, I swear this aired on CBS on Saturdays in the afternoon, like 1-3pm EST. Maybe reruns?
