John Waters

Biography

Dubbed as the "Pope of Trash" John Waters has devoted his career to the obscene, filthy, kitch and camp films that make this world a brighter and more beautiful place. Starting as a teen with an old 8mm, Waters didn't know that films could be edited and thought he had to shoot in sequence. After spending over a decade in the cult film section, his career took an odd turn when he made the smash hit musical Hairspray in 1988 and since then he has made more "commercial" films, which doesn't mean he's sold out only that he sells more tickets and gets more money to make his films. His 1972 film Pink Flamingos is a staple in the midnight madness filmgoer circle.

He loves Christmas and films.
