Christa Miller was born May 28, 1964 to parents Bonnie Trumpeter and Chuck Miller in Manhatten, New York. Though her father wanted her to have a career in law, she began modeling at an early age. Christa posed for her first photoshoot at only six months old. She studied at the Convent of the Sacred Heart, but continued to model and landed her first television commercial at the age of seventeen for Poloroid. She studied acting from many teachers and classes, eventually giving up modelling for good when she moved to Los Angles in 1990.
Christa went on to appear on shows such as Kate & Allie and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Finally, she won the role of Kate in The Drew Carey Show in 1995 after appearing in an episode of Seinfeld. She played Kate for seven years until the fall of 2002. Currently, she can be seen on Scrubs as Jordan Sullivan.
Christa lives in Los Angles with her husband, Bill Lawrence (the creator of Scrubs and Spin City). The couple have three children together, Charlotte Sarah (born June 2000) and sons William Stoddard (born in 2003) and Henry Van Duzer (born in October 2006). They also have three dogs.
